This is my first year teaching SAIL and I am having a great time! I have been at Orange Grove since 1991, and have taught second third, and fifth grades. For the past few years, I have served as the Teacher Coach. I love being back in the classroom.
I was born in Michigan (the state that looks like a mitten) and have two sisters and one brother. We moved to Virginia in 1968 and I lived there until I graduated from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) in 1977. I married my "high school sweetheart" and we went to Philadelphia for fours years while he studied at the University of Pennsylvania. My first teaching job was in a Lutheran Mission school in the city. I was lucky - my classroom was the old kitchen, so we made cookies when we didn't have heat. We moved to Charleston in 1983 so that he could teach at the College of Charleston.
Rob and I have two children and two cats. Our daughter Ginny is married and lives in Paris France with her husband Eric. Our son Bryan lives and works here in Charleston. The cats, Rambo and Precocious, think they are in charge.
In my free time, I like to read, sing, and travel.
