About the Teacher

I grew up in a military family, so I have lived in many different places.  My parents moved to Charleston after my Dad retired from the Air Force.  My Mom's family is from here.  I have a brother who also lives here with his family.

I graduated from the College of Charleston with a degree in Elementary
Education in December of 2003.  I have been teaching for over 13 years.  My husband was in the Navy in Jacksonville, FL and I began teaching there after we got married.  I taught second grade there and then moved to a private school where I taught middle school.  My husband got out of the Navy and we moved here to Charleston.  I previously taught in CCSD at Lambs Elementary in North Charleston for five years.  I'm going into my seventh year at Orange Grove, where I have taught third grade and this is my third year in fourth grade.  This school has spoiled me with its wonderful staff and families.  I am very excited about working with the students and parents again this year!

My husband and I have a little boy, Clark, who is 8 years-old.  We have a little girl, Mary Alice, who turned 4 this past May.  We enjoy traveling together as a family and spending time outside.
