Hi! My name is Lori Berry and I will be your child's teacher for the upcoming school year! I graduated from Oglethorpe University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts and then graduated from The National Center For Paralegal Training in Atlanta to become a certified paralegal. In 1984, I took precious time off to be a full-time mom to my wonderful three sons. After spending many, many years volunteering in all three sons’ classrooms, I went back to school and graduated from The College of Charleston in 1998 with a Master of Arts in Teaching, In 2007, I became a National Board Certified teacher. During my full-time mommy career, I coached all three boys’ teams in their T-Ball and Coach-Pitch years. I also was their Cub Scout Den Mother throughout their scouting years. In fact, I can’t remember a time I didn’t work with children! Now that all my sons have grown up and moved out of my nest (sniff), I have adopted furry, four- pawed children who keep me laughing every day! I became a grandma for the first time on May 25th to beautiful Harper Elayne Berry and she is my heart!
I have taught at Orange Grove since 1999. Before that, I taught my first year at Mary Ford Elementary in North Charleston. I feel very blessed to be teaching and working with all my Orange Grove friends and students! Each day brings new experiences and memories!
