Principal's Corner

From the Principal

It is hard to believe, but the Thanksgiving    Holiday is almost upon us. I truly hope that  you and your family have a wonderful and safe  holiday.  When I take a moment to reflect on  my many blessings, Orange Grove Charter  School and all of the wonderful people associated with it come to mind. As a school community, we have so many things to be thankful for. I want to personally thank all of you who took time out of your day to support us at last month’s CCSD Board Meeting. Your presence and support made a difference and we were able to secure both an extension at our Middle School Campus as well as a future permanent site (Former Middleton High School).

We had a very busy, but incredibly fun month of October. With the Boosterthon Fun Run, Golf Tournament, Red Ribbon Week, and Halloween the students and staff stayed very busy. All events were very successful and I’m proud to say that our Boosterthon was another record breaker, generating over $50,000 for the school! In keeping our promises for surpassing the $40,000 goal, my admin team and I slept on the roof (yes, all night). Thank you, as always, for all of your support.

In addition to all of the events, we recognized seven students for having perfect scores on the PASS Test last year. Orange Grove had more students score at this level than any other elementary school in the district! We also recognized hundreds of students at our 1st quarter awards ceremony for success in the classroom. You will see these students listed within this edition of The Tiger’s Roar.

This month, our Student Council is sponsoring a food drive to support the One 80 Place. Canned goods are being collected through Thursday and will be delivered on Friday.

Many of you have inquired about new student registration for the 2017-2018 school year. Registration will open in mid-January and will follow the same calendar dates as CCSD. We will be encouraging families to register new students online, but will have paper copies available in the main offices at both campuses as well as on our website for downloading and printing.

Wishing all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families.
